Vivid and Livid...
So I was telling Doug and then my sister, Vanessa, about these dreams I've been having about the wedding. I've literally had them like 4 or 5 times from what I remember! It could be more, you never know!
-I'm literally running around trying to find my dress in em, or running around in my dress with my hair all ugly and no make-up.
-I forget to sent out invitations and only like a handful of people show up .
-There's no food for anyone.
-5 minutes before the reception starts, I realize I never got my teeth whitened so I run with my sister to the store to buy teeth whitening strips...cause my teeth are EXTRA yellow!! (That was last night!)
In that same dream, I was also realizing I was flying out to Japan the next day and I felt some real anxiety because my mindset was where it is right NOW-NOT READY!
Anyway, here's a list of things we've done recently and things that are left or whatever!
I haven't even written them in my wedding journal-which is just too bad-because I should!
These lists really should make me worry less because of how everything is actually coming together.
1. Gave the caterer a down payment this past weekend I went down. Dad will take care of the rest of the amount and he knows where to find the caterer. (just need to buy the plates at Sam's Club with dad) Received a contract!
2. Paid the DJ half of the total amount this past weekend as well and provided him a "day of" timeline as well as some other songs that we wanted him to play for certain 'events.' I also updated his song list and added some songs I wouldn't mind hearing during the wedding. Received a contract!
3. Received a contract from the photographer who I have also paid half of the money to as well!
4. Bought a bit of decor for the bride and groom table-greenery, candle holder, etc.
5. Made an apt for the DJ at the venue so he could go check it out and see how much space he needs or the length of wires he'll need to bring along.
6. Sent off my Passport stuff and got our pictures taken for our International Driving Permit so we can do Mari Kar in Japan! XD
7. received our beautiful cake topper!
8. ordered wedding coasters to put on the tables for people to write on and figured we could read them the plane! :D
9. Got extra copies of my invitations..for free..from my old buddy Carol over at Office Max! <3
Mmm...there might be other things...
1. We got Doug's clothes and his wedding band.
2. My dress is getting altered as I "speak." jk, idk.
3. We have our airplane tix!
4. Have a number of clear bottles..some still need the paper off of 'me.
5. ordered my white asian-y looking robe
6. bought flipy flops for the bridesmaids
Things are coming together. I need to not freak out in my dreams!
So this past week..i took a job as a pre-k aid. That didn't pan out.
Now I find myself in a seemingly permanent-ish position. It's strange how that happens..sometimes I get switched but the administration: principals and other teachers liked how I did with her on the first day, which was last Tuesday and asked me to come back again,..the next day and the next and next. I am now on my second week with her. She is an 8 year old with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Intermittent Explosive Disorder... it's quite interesting, for lack of better words. She has a traumatic history and even though she is difficult to deal with sometimes, I never forget why she may be giving me such a tough time. I mean, she's little and she's been through so much already. I find myself being invested in her and want to see some positive change. More of a positive change.
