Grateful thoughts
This week has been great. So I am grateful and I'm making a grateful post.
Don't get me wrong; all of my weeks are great. Sometimes I just forget to be grateful.
Anyway, this week I was trying to stay in touch with God as best as I could. I tried to pray a little more than usual, sing praises more often, converse during the day with Him...
This past Sunday was amazing and I wanted to keep the feels and vibe and really, the Spirit with me for as long as possible.
And I really think I did a decent job, up until Thursday where I allowed myself to have some time to be frustrated but it was silly and dumb stuff, just 'fun' customers, you know.
So this week, I was supposed to have Wed/Thurs off but I got called in both day because fellow co-worker was doing jury duty. That's ok. More hours, more money, right?
Last week, I got to do my last bit of Observation hours at Alvarez Elementary. Just in the nick of time did I get to too. Schools were telling me no because it was the last few days of the school year. But that school came thru and I got to sit in a Kindergarden classroom. It was awesome!
Yesterday, Doug and I spent all day together, just enjoying each other's company, gaming, snacking and eventually had a late dinner at Kumori. We had simple maki rolls: white rice, seaweed and fresh fish of choice. We had scallops, eel, whitefish and yellowtail. They were so simple, delicious and perfect.
Today was the Hog Dash. I was on a team with Lidia, her sister and her daughter, Michelle, Lidia's cousins, etc and even Vanessa and Josh did it. We all eventually were split up but I stuck with my brother and sister. The weather was CRAY. Aside from it being muddy on it's own, it started raining...and then POURING. Like, hard rain, thunder and lightning. Fun stuff, really. I'm grateful that my body made it through it and that all of us were safe and unharmed. Unfortunately, there was actually a girl who broke her leg. :'(
Even right now, as I sit here and type this, I get to enjoy simple pleasures like my cat warming my lap and heavily purring and my bird preening my still damp hair. I get to paint my nails and watch Frasier. Maybe in a bit I will paint or play WoW. Maybe I should nap. I wish I had more time to do more things. :)
Even still, I'm so glad to be granted this time right now. Thank you, Lord, for this day.
