Recall
Know what makes me laugh?
When I cover Bird's cage and I just hear her throwing tantrums...like she is throwing her face against the bars and trying to get me to take her out. How strange! How funny!
This week, on Thursday, I had the honor and privilege to play for Kristy's uncle's funeral. He had been a soldier and the VFW actually happened to be there to shoot off their guns in remembrance. Whatever the process is called...now I feel kind of ignorant!
No need to dwell on that!
Anyway, I got to play Taps. And it was an honor because although I did not know him, David, I was able to be among his family. Among the people that he meant so much to. It was beautiful. I was glad to be able to do it.
These last few days, I had began to feel like draggy again. I don't love doing my teaching modules. I forget what the point of it is.
A couple of nights before Kristy's uncle's funeral, I had asked God to forgive me because I didn't pray to Him as much as I wanted to and knew I should. Specifically, praying on my knees. I'm glad to do it...I just don't very much. I begged Him to give me some clarification, renewed strength and vision. A reminder of what I am working for.
Before bed, I decided to look up Meysen Academy on Youtube to see if anyone had posted anything lately. (The latest vlogs are from like 2010 or so, which I feel is disheartening!)
I found a girl who posted a few videos last month in May. That made me excited. I found her on Instagram and wrote to her and she wrote back, followed me and seems nice!
It took a few minutes for me to fall asleep that night. And the whole next day I was actually really peppy. It was an answered prayer for sure; I was so happy.
Today's date marks the official 'change' in our store. The new implementation of positions and whatnot. Its completely not really gonna change anything, I'm pretty convinced of that. It's just one particular event at the start of my shift really urked me and tried to urk me for a while.
I did manage to turn things around and make the day really quite productive for some of my coworkers and I. I reinstated the "Caught in the Act" program and gave some pep talks that seemed to really bring out the strengths of my co-workers today. It's a long story that I shortened for the sake of this already babbly post. It was a good day.
Happy father's day!
Happy 7th birthday, Austin!
Today's GoT episode was amazing. #battleofthebastards
